It’s half-term this week, and the summer holidays aren’t far away. If your kids are nagging you for a new bike, Dorvics and Frog can help!
Frog Bikes are designed to make riding a bike for younger riders as easy and fun as… well, riding a bike. And, as a bike shop that prides itself on listening to our customers and providing quality, stylish bikes, we’re delighted at Dorvics that we’re now an official stockist of the Frog range.
A British family-owned and family-run business, Frog was inspired by a founding couple with two children of their own. The founders were firm in their belief that lighter children’s bikes make learning to ride and progressing further into cycling easier and more enjoyable for children.
Frog have worked with Team GB Olympic engineers and researchers at Brunel University, as well as using their own kids as test riders, to make the riding experience as perfect as possible. The result of their principles is a range based around light, strong aluminium frames, and a unique crank design that maximises pedalling power, and therefore speed. After all, kids want to go fast, don’t they?
Built at a modern factory in south Wales, the Frog range has something for all ages and abilities. Starting off with the Tadpole (what else?) balance bikes for toddlers, riders between the ages of three and six can step up to the First Pedal range of single-speed machines.
And from the age of six up to 14, your budding little Chris Froomes and Danny MacAskills can choose from a full suite of different types of bikes, just like their mum and dad! This includes hybrids that are just at home on forest trails as their are on school runs, road bikes with super-lightweight frames, track bikes for riders starting out in the velodromes, and mountain bikes that are perfect for off-road challenges.
Every bike in Frog’s range features several different frame size options, so that your son or daughter can feel comfortable on a bike that fits them perfectly. What’s more, they’re also designed to be easily adjusted to suit growing boys and girls, with saddle height and position, handlebars and stems all able to be changed or lengthened to maximise the usable time of the bike.
And when the bike’s finally been outgrown, the Leapfrog scheme means you can bring it back to Dorvics and trade it in as a part-exchange for something in a bigger size. That way, your child can always enjoy a high-quality bike without causing serious harm to your bank balance…
